biography

Since 2006 I have been the in-house producer and engineer at “Alaska Studio” based in Waterloo, London, where I work with artists covering variety of genres as well as producing my own material.

This started with me overseeing a major refurbishment which saw the inclusion of a new Audient ASP8024 desk, a Mac Pro based Pro Tools system as well as assorted new microphones and outboard recording equipment to complement the existing vintage gear.

Since then I have worked as recording and mix engineer on the Roots Manuva Album “Slime & Reason” as well as recording the vocals for the Mercury Award Winning Speech Debelle album “Speech Therapy” and mixing tracks for the Jammer album “Jahmanji”.

This has led to a close working relationship with Big Dada which has kept me busy in the studio over the summer recording and mixing tracks for their recent signings Dels and Paris Suit Yourself.

Most recently I have been recording and mixing tracks for the upcoming Sound of Rum album which is out soon on Sunday Best, as well as producing and co-writing studio based material with my band Blanco…

I have also worked with Seanie T, Mikachu, Dawn Penn, Pets in Heaven, Sheep on Drugs, Photomachine, Skepta, Sway, Lickle J, Toddla T, Newham Generals, and Sam Salon.

Alaska Studio was first started in 1977 and was instrumental in the London Punk movement with many albums from the scene being recorded in the studio.

Based in a friendly, unpretentious environment, the recording studio is set up to encourage the creative process with a varied selection of synths and instruments always at hand, including some of my custom built synths and outboard recording equipment (see the Electronics page).

There is also an awesome sounding live room, large enough for full band live recordings, as well as two isolation rooms.

We offer very competitive rates for an 8 hour recording and mixing session, with discounts available for long-term bookings.
